Need a Passport? Plan Ahead and Save Money

The Seattle Passport Agency has asked its regional passport acceptance facilities to remind customers that March through August is the peak season for passports. During this time, travelers who apply and need their passport in their hands sooner than the six weeks it usually takes to process a passport must pay the $60 expedite fee in addition to the regular passport fee of $110, for a total of $170.

To save money, we urge our passport customers to apply at least six weeks prior to the date they must have the passport. Save the $60 expedite fee by planning ahead. We realize, of course, there are situations where it’s not possible to apply that early. In those cases, paying the expedite fee is necessary and we are happy to help.

If you plan to apply here at City Hall, check out our hours, electronic wait-list, and other passport information here.
