Study Ranks Lake Forest Park in Top 15 Safest Cities in Washington

The National Council for Home Safety and Security study of safest cities in Washington has again ranked Lake Forest Park in the top 15 across the state and third in King County, behind Snoqualmie and Enumclaw.

The Lake Forest Park Police Department’s 2018 Annual Report will be published to the City’s website by mid-February, but in the meantime, here are a couple of quick facts from the report:

  • There were 39 residential burglaries in 2018, down from 50 in 2017 and 97 in 2014
  • There were 3,014 proactive traffic stops, which is over 300 more than the seven-year average of 2,700
  • Officers conducted 1,361 proactive neighborhood patrols, which is over 300 more than the five-year average of 1,034

The Police Department’s annual operations plan, which outlines specific performance measures, intense community outreach activities, and coordinated partnerships, has been key to its success. To find out more about specific objectives in the plan, click here.
