On October 23, 2008, the City Council adopted Ordinance 983, establishing a Transportation Benefit District (TBD). (LFP Municipal Code 12.35.) The TBD was created to provide adequate funding for ongoing transportation improvements that preserve, maintain and, as appropriate, construct or reconstruct the existing transportation infrastructure of the City of Lake Forest Park consistent with Chapter 36.73 RCW.
On November 12, 2015, through Ordinance 1107, the Lake Forest Park City Council assumed all the Rights, Powers, Functions, Immunities, and Obligations of the Lake Forest Park Transportation Benefit District. This action dissolved the separate TBD entity and absorbed the TBD into the general government.
The Transportation Benefit District Board held meetings annually to review the annual report, project list, and budget.
As of November 2015, the governing body of the Transportation Benefit District shall be the Lake Forest Park City Council. (LFP Municipal Code 12.35.020.)
On November 12, 2015, the Transportation Benefit District Board adopted Ordinance 2, authorizing an increase in the vehicle license fee from $20 to $40 per year per car registered in the city.
