In 2011 the City acquired the property at 17038 44th Ave NE with grant funds to convert it into to a public park. This property was selected for the following reasons:
Trail(s): Short Boardwalk with Seating and Connection Trail from Town Center to 44th Ave NE
Parking: Small Parking lot on 44th Ave NE (4 Stalls with 1 ADA Stall)
Other: Natural Kids Play Area, Nature Viewing and Seating of the Park and Lyon Creek
The park is open to the public, dawn to dusk. Dogs must be kept on leashes.
Property Acquisition: King County Conservation Futures, King Conservation District, King County Flood Control District and King County Parks Levy collections.
Park Development: King County Flood Control District, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Washington State Department of Transportation, King County Waste Reduction and Recycling (boardwalk), Washington State Department of Ecology Coordinate Prevention Grant (boardwalk) and King Conservation District.
