Welcome to the Lake Forest Park Police Department

Chief Peterson The Lake Forest Park Police Department is located on the second floor of City Hall at the interesection of Ballinger (SR 104) and Bothell Way (SR522) the northwest tip of Lake Washington.

Chief Dennis Peterson heads the Lake Forest Park Police Department. He has served as Chief of Police since 2000. The staff consists of 22 commissioned officers and five support staff members. Chief Peterson is a member of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC).

Hours for School Zones Enforcement

school-zone-sign.gif The city has changed the school zone signage to clarify when school zone traffic regulations are in effect.  Police are enforcing speed limits in school zones between 7 am and 4:30 pm.

Officers will be issuing warnings for a month or so.  After this vehicles that are traveling above the speed limit in school zones will be given a traffic ticket.  Fines in school zones are double and cannot be reduced in court.

Lobby Hours

The Police are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Police Station offices are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Officers are on duty but the Police Station is closed on the following holidays: New Year‘s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Day, President‘s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
