Draft Community Forest Management Plan
The City is continuing to work on a tree ordinance. To lay the groundwork for the future ordinance updates, and to provide a guide to manage the City’s forest resources, the Urban Forest Task Force (2009) has developed a document called the draft community forest management plan.
Citizens are encouraged to read and comment on draft plan. The plan in its final form will lay the foundations for changes in the way the city manages the community forest. The Council deliberations on the draft community forest plan will take place over the next several months. The City will be developing additional amendments to the tree ordinance based on the plan.
