Bulky Yard Waste Collection January 2, 2010

Bulky Yard Waste collection Saturday, January 2, 2010
9 am to 2 pm City Hall Parking lot

Bring your bulky yard waste items that are too large to be placed in yard waste containers.  Whole Christmas trees with branches will be accepted. No flocked trees. No leaves.  This event is part of the City’s contract with Allied Waste.  Enter through the upper parking lot near the professional buildings.

Lake Forest Park Library Construction Project

Estimated Start of Project: 2009, pending development plans at Lake Forest Park Towne Centre, where the library is located.

The Plan Includes:

  • A 1,400 square foot expansion of the existing library with more materials, computers, wireless access and space for children and teens.
  • Upkeep and maintenance of the library during the next decade.

Friends of the Lake Forest Park Library Meeting

The Friends of the Library support programs of the library including writing programs, Pizza and Books for teens and the Lake Forest Park Reads program. This group supports the local library through book sales at the book kiosk by the entrance and periodic book events. Drop by and see if this group is one you would be interested in joining.

School Board approves levy/bond proposals for February 9, 2010 special election

The Shoreline School Board has approved three proposals to be placed on the ballot at a special election February 9, 2010. February 9, 2010 Bond/Levy facts The Shoreline School District will offer a series of information sessions for the community about the upcoming levy and bond election Feb. 9, 2010.

There are many informational meetings including:

Intuition
January 7 – February 28, 2010
Thursday, January 14 from 5-7 special artist open house.
  Intuition has been defined as ”understanding without effort.“  An artist’s intuition can then be described as an effortless capturing of the world transformed into art.  Artists Judith Heim (watercolor/ink), Ellen Miffitt (collage) and Rick Scott (photography) will present their intuitive artworks at our new gallery show, Intuition, which opens January 7 at The Gallery at Towne Centre.  This is your opportunity to meet the artists, ask questions about their art and enjoy some refreshments.
