Budget Updates for Second-Year of City’s Biennial Budget

In 2006, the City began its first biennial budget process when it adopted the 2007-2008 City Budget. The intent of the two-year budget process is to save time for both City Council and staff in the preparation and review of the budget by instituting a brief budget update in the first year of the biennium rather than a full budget process. At the October 25, 2007 City Council meeting, the Mayor proposed some minor adjustments to the 2007-2008 Budget for the second year of the biennium. These adjustments will be discussed with the City Council in November and will be adopted by the end of the year.

With the time saved from biennial budgeting, the City has focused more on the capital budget and development of a Six-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which is being discussed and adopted by the City Council this fall. For more information on the CIP go to Capital Improvement Program in the City website's Planning Department.
