RPIN delivers advance warnings for routine disruptions, such as planned road closures and construction, transit, airport and traffic changes and early warnings for potentially dangerous weather. It also posts news for unplanned disruptions and life-threatening emergencies such as disease outbreaks, environmental hazards, natural disasters, terrorism, and severe storm warnings.
Log onto the RPIN website at www.rpin.org for more information. Any resident can sign up to receive emergency and transportation alerts by geographic area (King, Snohomish, or Pierce County, as well as North and South King County or Seattle) and by type of medium (email, PDA, cell phone or pager). It takes less than two minutes to sign up.
