Bird Checklist for Lake Forest Park

Today is a good day to start learning more about our feathered neighbors here in the city.  Nearly 140 species of birds have been documented in Lake Forest Park.  A Bird Checklist for Lake Forest Park is now available in print form at City Hall, and as a PDF file on the City’s website. The list has been compiled by several resident birders who participate in the Audubon Society monthly neighborhood bird count.

Seasonal occurrences are noted to help you find birds year round. The checklist folds into a handy size for taking into the field. An excellent source for more information and pictures of our resident birds is http://www.birdweb.org/birdweb. Our backyards and city parks offer a wide range of good habitat, so get a copy of the list and start birding.

Copies of the bird checklist are available at City Hall or click here for a copy of the bird checklist.
