Flooding Status Report

Lake Forest Park is experiencing serious flooding. Both McAleer and Lyon creeks and their tributaries are at capacity and overflowing their banks.
Road travel can be hazardous. Bothell Way near the shopping center is a single lane. The shopping center near Starbucks is closed because of flooding. Water is over the road in many places including Beach Drive and Shore Drive, 37th near 205th and other lowland areas.
NE 162 Street at 35th has been closed because of possible mudslides.
Please us caution when traveling through flooded streets. Do not go through streets that have been closed.
Red Cross Flood Safety Tips:
- 80% of those people who die as a result of flooding are in vehicles. If you come upon a barricade, turn around and go another way. If you come upon flood waters, do NOT drive through them; the road could be washed out underneath.
- If you are advised to leave before flooding occurs, do so right away.
- Only if you have time - bring valuables and furniture to higher levels of your home; turn off the electrical power at the main source; secure the building.
