King County Issues Draft Environmental Impact Statement on Burke-Gilman Trail Redevelopment

King County Facilities Management Division issued a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on the Burke-Gilman Trail Redevelopment.

The DEIS evaluates three alternatives, the redevelopment alternative, the rebuild alternative and the no action alternative. 

The DEIS examines the affected environment, impacts and mitigation in each of the following categories:

Earth,

Surface water resources,

Wetlands,

Vegetation, wildlife and fish,

Land use and shorelines,

Recreation, aesthetics and visual quality,

Utilities and public services,

Noise,

Historical, cultural and archaeological resources,

Transportation

Socioeconomic resources.

The public comment period runs from November 1, 2007 through December 3, 2007.

A public meeting will be held on November 13, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to hear oral testimony and receive written comments.  This meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Shorecrest High School, 15343 25th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA.
