The Merry Wives of Windsor

by Wooden O Shakespeare Company
Sunday, July 22nd, 7pm, Free Please not the time change

Animal Acres Park, NE 178th St & Brookside Blvd, Lake Forest Park

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is proud to present Wooden O Shakespeare Company’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. Please join us on July 22 at 4pm for this original musical version of one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies.

The Merry Wives of Windsor is a delightful romp through a series of outrageous situations and shenanigans. Wooden O is fashioning The Merry Wives of Windsor as an original musical. Kristen Rosenfeld (Second StoryRep; Prospect Theatre, NY) is composing original music using Shakespeare's words as the lyrics.

Sir John Falstaff is the larger-than-life knight featured in two earlier Shakespeare masterworks. He proved to be such a popular character that Queen Elizabeth herself is said to have requested a sequel depicting Falstaff in love. The resulting domestic comedy pits the loutish knight against two clever women, who use his attentions as a means to teach their husbands and the foolish Falstaff a few lessons.

The cast features Eric Ray Anderson as Sir John Falstaff, Heather Hawkins as Mistress Ford and Vanessa Miller as Mistress Page, along with Walter Baker (Master Page), John Bartley (Fenton), Amy Berryman (Anne Page), Bob DeDea (Master Ford), Enzo Gattucio (Robin), David Goldstein (Dr. Caius), Lincoln Grismer (Pistol), Dru Johnson (Nym), Shawn Law (Sir Hugh Evans), Jon Lutyens (Slender), Rick May (Justice Shallow), Alejandro Stepenberg (Simple) and Amber Wolfe (Mistress Quickly).

Concerts in the Parks are presented by the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Arts council with partial support from the Cities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park, 4Culture Lodging Tax and Washington State Arts Commission
