March, 2007: What Makes Lake Fores Park a Great Community?

I think it is the active involvement of our residents in community life. Lake Forest Park Rotary members pick up trash along Ballinger Way, the Stewardship Foundation is working on fish habitat, Friends of Third Place Commons brings community programming, the Friends of the Library are supporting literacy, the PTA’s are providing support for our schools and our students, and some volunteers are working on healthy community initiatives.
Are you involved? You might be interested in volunteering on a City commission. The City has openings on the Environmental Quality,Transportation, Planning, and Parks and Recreation commissions.
