December, 2006: The City Budget

The budget is the City's primary policy document. It reflects the spending priorities for the City. This year we are proposing to implement several goals. The first is the budget itself. This year, for the first time, we have a two-year budget. As in other years, the budget is balanced.
The goals reflected in the budget include: continue our partnership with any developer for the town center to insure the project reflects the community values; transportation and safety improvements; emergency preparedness for natural disasters and diseases; continuing with infrastructure improvements to the sewers and developing a community vision for parks, open space and trails.
The Council and I have worked collaboratively to invest your local tax dollars wisely preserving our infrastructure, enhancing our community and planning for the future.
