May, 2006: Spring Events in Lake Forest Park

Spring is always a time of anticipation! And in Lake Forest Park it also marks the beginning of a series of exciting events in the City. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14 the Farmer’s Market opens. From May to October, Sundays will bring fresh flowers, vegetables and fruits, entertainment, and many specialized vendors. Last year, hundreds of Lake Forest Park residents were down at the Towne Centre every Sunday for the wonderful offerings of the Farmers Market.

A children’s day event will be held at the Market on June 11. Saturday, June 17 is this year’s date for the Secret Gardens of Lake Forest Park. This annual tour highlights several marvelous and exquisite gardens in our City of wonderful gardens along with many supporting activities for gardeners and aspiring gardeners.

LFP Reads, a program sponsored by the Library Committee and Third Place Books, has identified The Highest Tide, authored by Jim Lynch of Olympia, as the book for all to read. The author will be coming to Lake Forest Park on June 29 to read from his book.

For movie and music lovers, we are having two Movies in the Park (July 14 and August 11) and two Concerts in the Park (July 5 and July 12) at Animal Acres Park for your entertainment pleasure. Stay tuned!
