August, 2005: The City Says Thank You to Volunteers
From the Computer of Mayor Dave

Lake Forest Park is a City of volunteers. Over 250 people routinely volunteer their services to the City. Volunteers serve on commissions and committees; volunteers serve on special advisory groups on the town center and the Burke-Gilman Trail. Volunteers work together to bring you the Garden Tour, the Farmers Market and LFP Reads; volunteers support our community with their service to make crime watch and neighborhood block watch work. StreamKeepers and the Stewardship Foundation volunteers are doing important monitoring and restoration to our streams. Our volunteers are terrific. Thanks to every one of you.

On August 21 at the Farmers Market we will be hosting a special volunteer appreciation. Everyone is invited. Join us under our tent. We will have tables and chairs for you to sit and listen to the music of Toyito y Amigos. You can meet our current volunteers as well as get information on volunteer opportunities in Lake Forest Park. We will be serving a special “We Love Volunteers” cake starting at 1:30 p.m. and continue serving until the cake is gone. Come join us.
