March, 2005: Public Hearings and Citizen Input
From the Computer of Mayor Dave
In March, we are having public hearings on sign code changes, setting sewer rates and charges, the comprehensive plan, future land use map, and sensitive areas ordinance.

Each of these issues is important. The public hearing process sometimes feels stiff and formal. It is the means we use to get citizen input “on the record.” The input we get at public hearings can influence or change proposed legislation. Your voice is important.

When issues are complex we try to schedule informational public meetings on the topics. We have done this with the sewer topic and on the issues related to the draft comprehensive plan, sensitive areas ordinance and the future land use map.

I want to encourage you to attend the informationalmeetings and to testify at the public hearings, or send comments on these important issues to City Hall, 17425 Ballinger Way NE, Lake Forest Park, WA 98155, or cityhall@cityoflfp.com.
