November, 2003: Welcome Sustaining Lake Forest Park Task Force Members

I want to thank the 15 members of the Sustaining Lake Forest Park Task Force for agreeing to serve. The City Council selected Ed Sterner, Mary Jane Goss, and Roger Olstad to serve on the task force. I have asked Roger Olstad to chair the group.

Members of several City Commissions are serving on the Task Force. They are Dale Cote from Environmental Quality, Florence Wright from Parks & Recreation, Jeff Weissman from Economic Development, Lloyd Skinner from Planning, and Karen Sluiter from Human Services. There are two members of the task force who live in town and work in the Towne Centre; these are Robert Sindelar and Kae Peterson.

In addition, there are five members at large. These include one person from the Brookside neighborhood and four others. These members of the Task Force include Shary Van, Anne Stadler, Pam Brown, Joel Paisner, and Sally Renn.

I have asked these members of the community to advise me on the future of Lake Forest Park. I want them to make recommendations to strengthen and enhance the economic and social viability of the City’s commercial areas, especially the Town Center. I have asked them to be open, to study the issues, and to keep the best interests of the community as a whole in mind. This is important because it will make a difference in the City for all of us.
