Environmental/Legacy Mini-Grant Program
About the Program
The City of Lake Forest Park provides Environmental/Legacy Grants to individual property owners, groups of property owners or community organizations to encourage small-scale environmental improvements. Grants reimburse a portion of expenses on projects in two categories:

  • Local ecosystem enhancement - restoration projects that return wetlands, streams, and lakeshore areas to more natural conditions. Ecosystem enhancement projects can be undertaken by individuals or groups.

  • Legacy Vision implementation - projects that contribute to the 100-Year Legacy Vision: healthy connections (walkability), natural drainage, healthy habitat, and people places (gathering spaces.)  Legacy Vision projects must be group projects and should be on public land such as Right of Ways. Projects not on public land will be considered based on their benefit to the public.

Project Reimbursement and Match
The program provides 50% reimbursement:
  • Up to $500 for single family non-rain garden projects
  • Up to $1,500 for community organizations or multiple property owner non-rain garden projects
  • Up to $1,000 for single family rain garden installations
  • Up to $2,000 for community organization rain garden installations
