McAleer Creek Facilities
McAleer Creek Bypass
  • McAleer Creek Bypass: Constructed in 1994 by King County. The facility's intake is located on the south side of Bothell Way just north of the Burke-Gilman Trail. The bypass pipe is a 48-inch concrete pipe that diverts flows from the intake to the discharge point on McAleer Creek at Shore Drive NE. The facility was retrofitted by the City in 2011 to improve its capacity and maintenance access.
  • NE 196th Facility: Provides regional detention and attenuates flows from the upstream reach. This facility is operated and maintained by the City of Shoreline and provides 3.0 acre-feet of active detention storage.

Cedar Way Detention Facility
  • Cedar Way Detention Facility: This instream facility is located in the City of Mountlake Terrace and has an active storage volume of 24 acre-feet. This facility is owned, operated and maintained by the City of Mountlake Terrace.

Acre-Foot: It is defined by the volume of one acre (43,560 sq. ft.) of surface area to a depth of one foot.
