The mission of the Human Services Program is to enhance the quality of life for all members of the community while meeting their basic physical, economic, and social needs.

The Human Services Commission, composed of Lake Forest Park residents, provides direction and insight for the development and funding of services. Services include support for victims of domestic violence, programs for seniors, after-school programs, drug and alcohol prevention services, and support services for families. Hopelink serves homeless and low income families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Their goal is to help families move out of crisis and into self-sufficiency. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Senior Center serves over 3000 seniors from the Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, North Seattle and surrounding areas. Its mission is to support and nurture the health, educational, and recreational and social needs of the senior population. Shoreline/LFP Senior Center is located at the south end of Shoreline Center, at the corner of 185th Street and 1st Avenue. Shuttle service is available. SCC@LFP is a satellite campus open six days each week adjacent to Third Place Commons on the upper level of Lake Forest Park Towne Centre. The facility features state-of-the-art technology in seven classrooms and computer labs. With free parking, a grocery and drug store, Third Place Books and Commons, and delicious restaurants, attending classes at Lake Forest Park fits right in to busy lifestyles.

SCC@LFP offers a wide range of lifelong learning opportunities. Their offerings include noncredit classes and credit classes for transfer, extended learning opportunities that include computer classes, management training and other professional skills enchancement programs, Information Technology (IT) courses and certificate training in Linux, Oracle, A+ PC Service technician and web design.
