CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hutchinson opened the study session meeting at 6:12 p.m.
AGENDA ITEM/DISCUSSION
Legislative Agenda
Hutchinson welcomed 32nd District legislators—Senator Darlene Fairley, Representative Ruth Kagi and Representative Maralyn Chase--and expressed his appreciation for their willingness to meet with the city to discuss proposed items for the legislative agenda.
Hutchinson discussed proposals for making cities fiscally stable, eliminating unfunded mandates, and supporting regional services. Representative Maralyn Chase exited the meeting at 6:30 p.m. due to other commitments.
Hutchinson also discussed capital budget issues related to transportation and flooding and public safety issues. He encouraged continued state funding related to economic development and shoreline management and discussed other legislative issues.
Senator Fairley said that she anticipated a short legislative session and discussed issues related to unfunded mandates.
Representative Kagi said the discussion of the liability issue may be lengthy, and she noted that the primary issue is also scheduled for the upcoming session.
Adjournment
There being no objection, the study session meeting was adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
