A deferred finding may be granted once every 7 years. If you have a CDL you are not eligible for the deferred finding program. The traffic infraction will be dismissed and will not appear on the DOL abstract with full compliance with the deferred finding program. Failure to comply will result in a finding of committed, imposition of the full original penalty amount and notice to DOL which may result in a suspension of the driving privilege. Failure to pay may result in referral to a collection agency. The filing of any infraction with an offense date after entry of this order shall be considered a new violation, unless the case has been found not to have been committed. The administrative fee is $175 and the deferral period is 6 months.
Traffic infractions may be eligible for transfer to the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Youth Court. The deferral period is 6 months and the transfer fee is $30. You cannot have a conviction for a violation of any provision of Title RCW 46 nor be under the jurisdiction of any court for violation of any provision of Title RCW 46. You must comply with all conditions set by the Youth Court and have no further traffic violations during the deferral period. Upon successful completion, the infraction will be dismissed. Failure to comply with all conditions of Youth Court will result in a finding of committed, notice to DOL which may result in the suspension of the driving privilege and referral to a collection agency.
